Road Trip

The Lake House is about a three hour drive.  We have been going up there on Saturdays, seeing what's going on and going swimming.  Last time, we had some friends go up with us..... in the same car!  The kids were a little whiney, but we had fun!

For being so good, on the way back we stopped and got some Krispy Kreme doughnuts.   Yum-o!

Tanner Lately....

These are some of my favorite things about Tanner lately....

That he is pulling up on everything and getting into anything.....

Big Equipment

While at the property, the kids (and Adam) were excited to take pictures on the equipment.

It's starting...

Last weekend we went up to the property and they have started.  We can actually see where they house will lay on the lot.

Did I mention we will have guest rooms?

Lake House (Part 1)

We recently bought some property up in South Carolina and are beginning to build a house.  We are very excited and can't wait to have guest's over and spend lots of time up there!

This is the first time we saw the property.  The trees have really filled in!

We decided to do some sweat equity and cut down the trees ourselves.  It took longer than we had planned, but we got it all done in one weekend.  (but we missed church)

We have seen a few turtles hanging around.

The Home Depot Workshop this month

This month was a little different.  We were busy getting up to the Lake House and needed to get some work done cutting down trees.  So my mother-in-law took Jaedyn & Landon this time.  They had fun and made some flower pot holders.  They met us up at the lake house when they were done.

Kindergarten registration

I can not believe I am old enough to have a kid going into Kindergarten next year.  Jaedyn is very excited to go to Kindergarten and was very excited to go see her new school and get her registered.

She is very excited to go inside!

Once inside they do a quick assessment of the kids to see where they are at.

Jaedyn said they asked her to write her name, identify letters out of order, and read some sight words.  She knows how to write her name and all her letters, sight words are a work in progress.  We know about 20-30 of them, but definitely not all of them.  She has come a long ways from the first time we started doing sight words.  In the beginning if she didn't know the word, she would say things like,

Oh, thats a pretty word
or
Mom, that has like a line and a circle in it

Frustrating and funny all at the same time. 

I hope summer goes by slowly!

Yummy Cupcakes

The day after Landon's Birthday he had school, so we took some "Batman" cupcakes to his school to share with his friends.  I love that most places will also make the cake, in a "pull-apart" cupcake.  Makes it very easy.

Then his class sang Happy Birthday to him, and ate cupcakes.

Landon said he had a good day at school and all his friends loved his cupcakes!

Landon's Birthday

Since Landon's actual birthday was on a Tuesday and he didn't have school that day.  I let him choose what we would do that day.  Landon choose to go to the Bounce House and invite a friend.  He had so much fun.

Tanner had fun on the inflatables also!

Jaedyn Lately..
